The Shrine at Bramasole
On my last four trips to Italy, I've been to visit Bramasole three times. On my first visit I was taken with the shrine at the front of her house, and I now have the same terracotta plaque in my home in Australia.
It's fascinating to look at any of the shrines throughout Italy, but I'll always feel that this one is, well, something particularly special for me.

All your photos are so lovely, I cannot wait to see Italy. I've always wanted to go. I finally get to see Rome and Florence in November with my mother.
Canberra sounds hot and dry - luckily in Sydney we have had some rain this year! I love the rain, and especially the hot, humid summer days that are followed by a cool early-evening shower...this week looks like being pretty overcast, though - time to pull out the cognac!

I see you're a fan of Tuscany & Frances Mayes too. I've never been there but have read all of her books more than once. Have you ever read Isabella Dusi's book Vanilla Beans & Brodo? I bet you have but in case you haven't it's about an Australian woman & her husband who go to Italy to live and settle in Montalcino. Along similar line to Frances' books although not quite as entertainingly written.
