Gingerbread

Just talking to myself here as I type on the kitchen counter. I converted this recipe to Australian ingredients, used treacle instead of molasses for example. Posting it here so I don't lose it. Now, I halved it. And I will serve it sliced up with butter on it.

* 1 cup s.r. flour, sift before measuring
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 2 teaspoons cinnamon
* 1 teaspoon ground ginger
* 1 egg, lightly beaten
* 5 tablespoons dark brown sugar
* 1/2 cup dark molasses
* 1/2 cup buttermilk
* 1/4 cup melted butter

Cook at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes. Oh and grease and flour a loaf pan to cook it in.

So many beautiful images, and what do I home in on? Gingerbread. Now where is that jar of molasses . . .

Petting Pyewacket would be much less fattening.
