PhotoHunt: Entertainment

For entertainment, I do digital scrapbooking with The Digital Scrapbook Place. Last week they put on Christmas in July for us. Here are some of the layouts I made.

Well he's back! Going for gold.

Back in England representing Australia in pool - 8 ball, again, for the second time!

He's 18 this year. Please cross your fingers for him - I just want him to have a good time.

PhotoHunt: Creamy - Cappuccino

The first picture is here in my house, in Canberra. I make a cappuccino every morning.
The next one is at Il Fauno Cafe in Sorrento and the last one is on the Isle of Capri - both in Italy.

Specially for Nancyhol - here is a pic of my Breville cappuccino maker I use every morning with Vittoria Espresso coffee. And I buy coffee sugar as well.

PhotoHunt: Lock - up the cat food

Oh dear, it's come to this. Trixie is on Science Diet DIET and Pyewacket the siamese and ol' Tigger are on the old Science Diet I'M FULL OF CALORIES.

The cat food, apart from the very expensive diet cereal, is now locked up. As Trixie isn't sure just which cupboard it's hidden in, she is taking turns pounding loudly on every cupboard she walks by. She knows there is also a good part of a sack stored in an esky, which she has taken to sitting on.

I had just bought the enormous sack of full calorie Science Diet cereal last week.

Anyone with one fat cat, and two thin ones, will know just how hard this is on both Trixie and me. Oh dear!

PhotoHunt: Books - Blurb books

I print up all of my digital scrapbook layouts into photo books using blurb.com

I am currently making my 13th book - half of those I have made have been presents for my relatives. I have to say, they look pretty good in the bookcase or on the coffee table.

This is one of my favorite pictures that will be in my next book.

PhotoHunt: Plastic - Chairs outside Cafe Lavena, Venice

Lavena Cafe doesn’t open ‘til 10am. Pity I’m two hours early.

The Piazza San Marco glossy cafes don't open until 10 or even later, in the morning. So we have to get our first cappuccino a few blocks away. Then we go and sit on the plastic seats outside the cafes and people watch.

PhotoHunt: Painted - Scenes from the Gold Coast

The theme "painted" reminded me of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and also the painted looks of many of the backgrounds, overlays and elements in digital scrapbooking. Put that together with thoughts of the Gold Coast where I just attended a Digital Scrapbooking Place conference...

Earlier this week I heard someone skipping with a skipping rope in the driveway. It was my oldest, Giancarlo - doing some exercise before he went to the Gym.

I saw spring with my heart today:
A small girl, skipping, came my way.
Her Daddy's smile was on her face,
Her petticoat dripped fresh-torn lace.

A bunch of yellow-gold I spied
Behind her back - Oh woe betide!
Fresh daffodils! "For you," she said.
Plucked from my neighbour's flowerbed.

This poem was written for me by my mother Marcelle Pollington, when I was a little girl in California. The picture is from several years ago - when I was looking at the daffodils at Canberra's Floriade festival.

Trixie found herself a comfortable space to take a nap this afternoon.

Deck the halls with barfed up holly,
Fa la la la la
La la la la.

Trixie and Pyewacket were playing thundering herd of elephants last week, and they knocked the tree over. Bent branches, downed ornaments, bits of tree all over the carpet.... oh my!

The vet said to put her on a diet as she is getting quite wide, but she didn't take kindly to the idea.

Can you guess what my favorite appliance is? Yes - my Breville cappuccino maker.
Do you know, I think 7am is my best time of the day because that's when the scent of Vittoria Espresso wafts through the house.
