The cat food, apart from the very expensive diet cereal, is now locked up. As Trixie isn't sure just which cupboard it's hidden in, she is taking turns pounding loudly on every cupboard she walks by. She knows there is also a good part of a sack stored in an esky, which she has taken to sitting on.
I had just bought the enormous sack of full calorie Science Diet cereal last week.
Anyone with one fat cat, and two thin ones, will know just how hard this is on both Trixie and me. Oh dear!

I can relate to this. At one point, LuLu was on diet food and the kitten on high calorie food, and of course LuLu wanted the yummy kitten food. And the crazy kitten wanted the diet food - they drove me crazy! They eat the same food now, thanks goodness.

Poor dear I hope the diet works out. We can relate I have two thin cats, and one very chubby one. The big girl was the runt of her litter, so figure eh!

I love this, Leslie! JJ's a fat cat, too, and I have to limit her dry food. But every night at 8:00, whether there's still food in her dish or not, she comes over to the couch, sits on the floor, stares at me, and reaches up to tap me on the knee. If that doesn't work, she comes up next to me, reaches out and taps the computer keys!

I know what this is like...our cat, Tahoe, is a jealous one and she tends to eat what Winston [the other cat] doesn't eat. Just to keep him from getting it later on....and she is well, let's say....FAT! What can I do...I still need to feed Winston too, right?

Poor Trixi. We have a pair of grandcats with the same problem. Murray is rotund & and Emily is a wisp. My daughter has to lock Murray in the bathroom with his bowl of diet food so Emily can eat her Fancy Feast with egg on top.

Funny! I love the story. We used to have two cats - sisters with a strong sibling rivalry. The one we still have used to eat most of the food and got a little heavy (sorry nothing like trixie!) After her sister died, she actually lost weight. We figured it had something to do with competition and stress.

We have a "heftycat" too. Luckily, he is too lazy (or is it stupid???) to do more than wander about letting us know we are "staving" him by not feeding him all day, every day...
The cat food is very safe standing in a VERY large bag on the floor beside where we feed him.

I have one that needs c/d for bladder stones. One that needs k/d for kidney failure and the rest need regular. Of course the one that needs k/d won't eat it. So I give in and give her what she wants. She is so old and I figure she should be happy.
