Do you have a favorite cafe? I'd like to share mine with you... It's Lavena Cafe in Piazza San Marco in Venice. I had a wonderful time on my last trip with Alessandro.
I once learned, if not mistaken in my memory, that all ancient Roman architecture and art were in vogue in renaissance Italy, as Roman, Florentine and Venetian in main. Now digital photography is playing an integral part in the restoration of ancient art in pictured form again. Brava, Leslie.
The Lavena must be the one closest to S. Marco and the campanile, right? Never been to the cafe but I've seen it many times. It looks very lovely but so are all the cafes around the piazza.
What a wonderful idea for the theme and looks like a fabulous cafe. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know the name of the cafe which I liked better than any I've been to. It was a somewhat out of the way spot in Paris but my daughter found it for us. Since I'm unlikely to make it back I guess it doesn't matter that I don't know the name except when you asked I thought . . . but no name. Happy weekend.
Funny... after seeing your question, I realize I don't hang out much in cafes, so don't have a favorite one. (OTOH, have a favorite pub, resturant, etc.!)
I've been to Florence when my brother performed Othello there, but haven't made it to Venice yet. Being in the US, my favorite cafe would have to be the Russian Tea Cafe in Chicago. They serve a homemade blend of tea that is absolutely fabulous. On a cold day you could sit and sip tea all morning... Unfortunately, I do not live close enough to do so, but I order tea from them and enjoy it down south where the weather is warmer. Mine is up here.
The cafe looks absolutely lovely! We went to a cafe like that in Rome. I remember it was called Bernini. It had really nice spaghetti. Really good scrap pic. Love the use of the window frames.
beautiful scrap book you got there. Venice is one of the places I want to go someday. We've been to Venetian Hotel in Macau recently and it imitated how Venice looks like. It was beautiful but I imagine the real Venice is more:)

How wonderful! Seeing these transports me to Piazza San Marco. I'm partial to Florian's myself but Lavena is wonderful too.
Hope you have a great weekend!

I went to Venice when we were stationed in Germany back in the 90's. It was so beautiful and beat Central Texas any day of the week.
But here in the heart of Texas, I got a great shot of four!
