PhotoHunt: Yellow - Daffodils

I saw spring with my heart today:
A small girl, skipping, came my way.
Her Daddy's smile was on her face,
Her petticoat dripped fresh-torn lace.

A bunch of yellow-gold I spied
Behind her back - Oh woe betide!
Fresh daffodils! "For you," she said.
Plucked from my neighbour's flowerbed.

This poem was written for me by my mother Marcelle Pollington, when I was a little girl in California. The picture is from several years ago - when I was looking at the daffodils at Canberra's Floriade festival.

This is my latest entry.

I wish I had a poem from my mother. What a wonderful gift. Daffordils remind me of holding my grandfather's hand as we walked through his old fallen down homeplace and he would pick them for me.

Oh I do love your poem from your mom. Did you really pick them from the neighbors flower bed? I'm sure she didn't mind. No child can resist daffodils.

It will be great discussing together. Have you thought of a time? Lunch on Tuesdays I have phone duty and then on Wednesdays I have K duty. Mr Mc and Ms D are pretty strict if someone takes over for someone else if the person is still there at school.

Do you have a list of styles of writing? I tried looking for a list on the net but couldn't find a thing. I want to prepare for the writing test since I want to get a better result than last year. Types could include dicussion, book report, argument, narrative and so on. The style of writing is kept secret until the test day.

Love coming here because of the continuous posts and scrap pics.

Despite having gone through so many entries for this week's photo hunt, with so many of them with flower themes, it's only seeing yours that I am reminded there is a photo of me as a toddler, almost lost in a meadow full of daffodils! So creative of your mother to have penned that poem of you, for you!

Hi Ms S!

I love this poem! I did for homework last year and didn't realise it was simple English.

Do you think you can find some hard spelling words to do? The ones in class are a bit easy. I am trying to learn the year 9 words from you ICT program. They are more of a challenge.

Mr Mc has given me, only me, a 1500 word essay on a topic that I chose. I chose Albert Natmatjera and he approved. Do you think I could see you some time to discuss? Maybe not during class because it might look strange but it is still a possibility. Mr Mc is a good teacher. I have finished all the set work.
