PhotoHunt: Purple - View from Sorrento

That's Vesuvius in the background. The picture is from my balcony overlooking the ocean, at Sorrento. I've stayed here four times. This is a repost, but I just LOVE it!

This is my latest entry.

Hi Leslie, that is another incredible photo. You have stayed in Sorrento four times? I really liked the whole area when I was there. I would love to go back again too. I love visiting your blog because it reminds me of all the truly wonderful things about Italy. All good as well.

Gosh I love your work... there is a magic about it. Kind of storybook fantasy feel... but wonderfully real (esp when I recognise the locations!).

wow, what a beautiful photo...only wish I was there, I would absolutely love to spend a Christmas in Italy, I thought of you twice yesterday, once when watching Nigella's Italian flavoured Express show on ABC last night and once when I started browsing a book I bought in Vinnies, it's called Still Life, by Elisabeth Luard, all about recipes and lifestyle of peasant housewifes in Eastern Europe in a similar vein to Under The Tuscan Sun, which made me think of you in a roundabout sorta way! I wonder if you've read it, it's about 10 yrs old

Merry Christmas

p.s. loved the prom pics too!

What a fantastic view. What is your favourite hotel there? I haven't yet visited Sorrento, but now I see what I've been missing!

Hi Leslie, beautiful photo and designed. I really love coastline cities and towns. They have the most beautiful silhouettes.

Hi Leslie --

Do you spend as much (if not more) time in Italy than Australia? Am getting that distinct feeling when checking out your Photo Hunt entries! ;b

O such a magical hue in this shot! Strangely it reminds me of some Japanese paintings with soothing lines and silhouettes and haunting colour tones. Simply beautiful!

Well worth repeating. Stunning photo, makes me want to go there immediately. The tree framing the scene really makes this image pop.

Love this view - it is so serene and evocative.

I also used two photos that I had previously posted. I call it recycled images. :)

WOW!! That is gorgeous! Somehow my google reader did not alert me that you had a new post up. Sorry I missed it earlier. So we both love purple. That is cool! Are you heading back to the Sorrento/Amalfi area this year?

Leslie, I never heard about the bomb scare. Airports, I dislike them heaps. I still cant get over the ones where there are guys carrying guns - not sure how you explain that one to the kids really. Thanks for your comments. I am going to try those picture books one day - not sure I ahve enough good pictures but I wouldlike to do one of my daughter actually.
