My dad and I, way back when...
Dinghy days. Dad was a Major - navigator in Strategic Air Command. Then he retired and we moved to Australia so he could build a 41 foot trimaran in our backyard in Redcliffe, in Brisbane, Queensland in Australia.
This was the dinghy from our yacht, Altair, which came second in the Brisbane to Gladstone yacht race.

Lovely. My dad was not too nautical, but he did take us sailing a few times. I got into it a bit at University. I'll pass at the moment with all those hungry sharks.

Lovely selection for the theme, Leslie. I'd love to see one day a photo of the trimaran. Until recently we had a Morgan 38 and cruised in the Sea of Cortez.

Oh Leslie, I have not been to your blog in far too long, but every time I am so enchanted and convinced that we are kindred spirits. This is the loveliest post and beings happy tears to my eyes - what a beautiful picture, too!
(my dad was a pilot in the USAF from Korea to Vietnam. He had a sailboat, but sadly I never was lucky enough to have spent much time with him - he always talked to me about navigating by the stars, though!)
